For more than 25 years, CME has helped public agencies manage transportation and infrastructure programs. Today we pair that experience with modern AI — designing, building, and operating production platforms that bring real-time data, auditability, and human-in-the-loop control to work that used to live in spreadsheets, binders, and email.
REAL-TIME PROJECT CONTROLS PLATFORMS
We design and build modern, web-based project-controls platforms that replace aging Microsoft Access and SQL Server systems for multi-billion-dollar capital programs. A recent platform migrated roughly 309,000 live records — programming, contracts, invoices, grants, and allocations — into a managed cloud database with real-time financial roll-ups, role-based security, and a complete, immutable audit trail on every record.
EMBEDDED AI ASSISTANTS
Each platform includes a built-in AI assistant that answers procedure and business-rule questions and pulls live program data on request — remaining contract budgets, invoices awaiting approval, aging reports — strictly read-only and filtered by each user’s permissions, so no one sees data they aren’t entitled to.
AI-ASSISTED DOCUMENT INTAKE & AUTOMATION
We automate the document-heavy work that fills a program’s calendar. Incoming invoices and submittals are read by AI that pre-fills roughly twenty fields with per-field confidence scores and runs a multi-point compliance review against contract terms — then hands a single review screen to a staff member who approves every record. The AI never submits anything on its own, and the same approach powers configurable approval workflows that route, remind, and escalate automatically.
AI RESEARCH & KNOWLEDGE BASES
We build private, secure research toolkits that ingest documents and correspondence into searchable knowledge bases and answer questions with cited, source-rated analysis — so teams get fast, traceable answers while sensitive information stays in-house.
HOW WE BUILD IT
CME builds custom software the way modern product teams do. We use AI-assisted development with Anthropic’s Claude through Claude Code to move from discovery to a working, feature-complete platform in weeks instead of months — with a human engineer in control of every decision and independent AI code-review passes before anything ships. We pair that with workflow-automation tools like n8n and a modern, fully managed cloud stack — Next.js and React, PostgreSQL and Supabase with row-level security and audit logging, and Vercel for continuous deployment — integrating the identity, mapping, analytics, and accounting systems agencies already rely on.
